ABOUT ABOUT

What's this workshop about?

Knowing when you need to take a break, do something to reenergize, and relax is a key component of effective leadership.  Leaders who take care of themselves demonstrate that they have the ability and capacity to support others and model important skills that others can learn from.

Fall will soon usher in a new season of busyness. With new projects to undertake, holiday celebrations galore, and the rest of life happening, it’ll be important to enter that season with some tools for taking good care of ourselves.  Responsibilities show up for us in many different  ways and can be taxing to our bodies and minds.  What do you do to replenish your well?  How do you check-in with yourself to make sure you are doing okay?

At work and in our organizing spaces, many of us are good at encouraging others to take good care, but often find it difficult to step away from the work long enough to really restore ourselves.  In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Explore components of self-management leading to deeper analysis of how you are and are not taking good care of yourself
  • Identify and map out how to use self-care techniques to manage yourself better and still effectively lead
  • Understand the brain and body connection to you emotions and why you need a break

Is this workshop for you?

Sounds relevant?  This workshop will be for you if:

  • You want to learn more about your emotional intelligence and how it can serve you better
  • You struggle to identify and consistently integrate self-care strategies into your life and want that to change
  • You are willing to practice using new tools in a group setting to become a better leader of yourself and others

How much does it cost?
PACA is making this workshop available on a sliding scale basis.  We recognize that this kind of learning experience is often cost prohibitive for individuals, particularly  leaders of color, low-income/low-asset individuals, and those from grassroots and small organizations.

PACA is offering this and other workshops as a part of its Cooperative Leadership Institute.  We are not fully funded to offer these workshops so if you can afford to pay at the high end of the scale, please do!

For more information or to ask questions, please send an email to [email protected]. If you want to attend but can't pay, please contact us.  We have funding for a few reserved slots.
