ABOUT ABOUT

Among the Six Pillars of Food Sovereignty is that "food must be seen primarily as sustenance for the community and only secondarily as something to be sold (pillar #3)."

With invited speakers from Soil Generation and Weavers Way Co-op, PACA is hosting this event to connect our food co-op communities more deeply with the food and land justice/sovereignty efforts being led by black and brown growers and cooperators in the City.   Participants will learn about the challenges and opportunities available to black and brown urban farmers in Philadelphia, particularly through land preservation, attainment, and production to market.  We'll also explore how one local food co-op is contributing to Philadelphia's urban agriculture movement beyond selling food at the grocery store.

Light snacks and coffee will be provided. Childcare will be made available - please register your child(ren) using this form, or email us at [email protected].

Note on accessibility: PACA is committed to providing accessible programs, events, and services.  Please contact us at [email protected] regarding  accommodations - and we’ll do our best to assist. Restrictions to full accessibility will be posted as soon as possible.
