CANCELLED: Let's Study Co-op Principles! Why and how we practice them

ABOUT ABOUT

The Seven International Co-op Principles are explained at every co-op new member orientation and are a key part of the co-op identity.  Join PACA at the Kensington Community Food Co-op to start or deepen that learning! Their origins go back to the Rochdale pioneers who led the way for our modern co-op movement back in 1844.  How is it that these principles are still relevant today? How have they changed over the last century and a half?

These principles are intended to guide co-ops all over the world, as well as to help form our shared identity.  How do we practice them in our co-ops and beyond? Considering our current socio-economic and political climate, do they go far enough to help us build the equitable and inclusive co-op communities we want?

We’ll explore these and other questions to help us grow our understanding of and connection to the principles.

Note on accessibility: PACA is committed to providing accessible programs, events, and services.  Please contact us at [email protected] regarding  accommodations - and we’ll do our best to assist. Restrictions to full accessibility will be posted as soon as possible.
