Community Voices Project Screening

By Philadelphia Area Cooperative Alliance (other events)

Thursday, October 27 2022 6:00 PM 7:30 PM EDT

ABOUT ABOUT

Through the global pandemic and the uprisings for anti-racism and Black liberation, we are seeing — increasingly — neighbors and communities turning to cooperative economic and social practices to survive.  These ways of being in relationship with one another have deep roots in Philadelphia — from the Free African Society to the first mutual insurance company to state incorporated cooperative enterprises and beyond — and they need to be remembered, restored, and reimagined.

Join Philadelphia Area Cooperative Alliance (PACA) staff and members for a short film screening and discussion that uplifts pieces of Philly’s cooperative past and present on Thursday, October 27th from 6-7:30pm. Produced by PACA member Bonfire Media Collective, we hope to bring neighbors together to watch these films, learn together, and grow a stronger and more connected cooperative community.

Please help us spread the word! Share this event with friends and family and use the hashtags #WatchLearnGrow and #PhillyCoops so other folks can find it too!
